2013 Alley Art Festival Poster by Joanna Goss
Downtown Aurora – This year’s Alley Art Festival was designed and painted by local artist Joanna Goss. Goss, of Aurora, chose a summer, woodland theme for the festival poster and was influenced by early paint-by-numbers art.
Posters will be for sale at Alley Art Festival on Saturday, Aug. 31 from noon to 5 p.m. Posters are $10. and proceeds go back to fund the grassroots festival.
Alley Art Festival is held the last Saturday of the month on the pedestrian-friendly and tree-lined Water Street Mall between Downer Place and Galena Boulevard just west of Broadway, south of the Aurora Transportation Center (last stop from Chicago).
Goss is a sought after young artist who has received notoriety from her popular chevron paintings and other geometric work in gouache.
