Submissions

Downtown Auroran Magazine accepts submissions of artwork, photography, poetry, short stories, and downtown editorial pieces.

Editorial Calendar 2017:

Spring 2017 (The Blues Issue): Out March 3/Deadline Feb 15
Publication is dependent on adequate advertising to fund the issue. Each issue costs over $2K to produce. We are 100% supported by local businesses.
How to submit your work: All submissions should be emailed to m@downtownauroran.com prior to the magazine issue deadline. Include content in the body of the email or attach a Word document. Submissions are also accepted via Google Documents. Do not send ZIP files.

Who can submit? Anyone with a connection to the Aurora area can submit to Downtown Auroran Magazine. Preference is given to Aurora residents (both current and former).

What to submit: Any original works of art and writing can be submitted. The subject does not need to be downtown Aurora. Downtown Auroran Magazine is a local arts and culture magazine with an editorial focus on downtown Aurora; artwork can take on specific themes if the issue has a specific focus, otherwise, artwork of any genre or theme is welcome.

Payment: We do not currently pay for submissions. Our longterm goal is to be able to pay artists and authors for their valuable work, however, the short term goal is to sustain the magazine and keep it a free publication. We do pay contributors when possible. At this time, we only solicit contributors and we are not currently hiring.

Copyrights, your rights: We use Creative Commons license. See: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/
