Downtown Auroran Magazine accepts submissions of artwork, photography, poetry, short stories, and downtown editorial pieces.
Editorial Calendar 2017:
Who can submit? Anyone with a connection to the Aurora area can submit to Downtown Auroran Magazine. Preference is given to Aurora residents (both current and former).
What to submit: Any original works of art and writing can be submitted. The subject does not need to be downtown Aurora. Downtown Auroran Magazine is a local arts and culture magazine with an editorial focus on downtown Aurora; artwork can take on specific themes if the issue has a specific focus, otherwise, artwork of any genre or theme is welcome.
Payment: We do not currently pay for submissions. Our longterm goal is to be able to pay artists and authors for their valuable work, however, the short term goal is to sustain the magazine and keep it a free publication. We do pay contributors when possible. At this time, we only solicit contributors and we are not currently hiring.
Copyrights, your rights: We use Creative Commons license. See: http://creativecommons.org/
Specific guidelines:
– Poetry – submit up to 5 poems
– Artwork – submit at least a 300 dpi file (.jpeg, PDF, or .tif is preferred)

Timing: Submissions are accepted at any time, but please adhere to the deadlines for specific issues. We reserve the right to use your submission in future issues, as well as online on the Downtown Auroran website or on a social media page related to Downtown Auroran Magazine.
What else? Please submit a three-sentence bio along with your submission. Include your current city, age, and occupation along with an odd or interesting fact about yourself or an obsession, etc.
