“Phase II” Opens at Water Street Studios
Water Street Studios Main Gallery brings the work of established
Chicago and Batavia artists Steve Sherrell and Richard DeVeau together in an
exhibition titled: “Phase II,” opening April 8 and continuing until May 7, 2016.
Sherrell, a seasoned Chicago artist and Professor Emeritus of Art at Joliet Junior
College, will be showing a body of new abstract paintings that playfully explore
color, while attempting to get to the heart of questions that matter to us in the 21st
century.
DeVeau, a Batavia resident who moved from Boston where he established his
painting career, will also be showing a new body of abstract paintings that explore
color and texture with a narrative element that centers on “Family” as a theme.
This showing of Steve’s and Richard’s work comes at a time in their art careers and lives that sees them both moving into a new phase… Phase II.
Upstairs at the Kane County Chronicle Gallery:
Artist Kenneth Benavides will be showing work that explores dichromatic and trichromatic viewer perception at the Kane County Chronicle gallery, second floor at Water Street Studios.
Opening reception will be held April 8, from 6 – 9 p.m.
The show will be on view during regular gallery hours: Friday, 1-9 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 12 to 4 p.m. at 160 S. Water Street in Batavia.
