Vacant windows conjure up lots of things, but rarely is beauty one of them. That is changing in downtown Aurora where several vacant windows have brought people together in order to help beautify the downtown. Without commentary on the vacant windows, groups were formed last fall to put together window displays. The result is a more artful, welcoming downtown. Currently, four windows along Stolp Avenue are filled with displays by Vacant Window Project teams.
The windows pictured are in the Silverplate building at the northeast corner of Stolp and Downer. The windows are filled with paper origami and 3D pieces all made from Aurora publications by Team Paper. Photos by Perry Slade.
