6 BILLION POUNDS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES GO UNHARVESTED EACH YEAR.

Renewed Roots Initiative, a neighborhood-centric farm and community bicycling center in Aurora is working to decrease that number. One of the group’s initiatives is to create an Urban Orchard that spans the city and includes your backyard.

Renewed Roots is making strides to minimize unharvested food waste in Aurora. By registering your fruit-bearing tree or bush for inclusion in the 2017 Urban Orchard, you can, too. Fruit will be harvested by volunteers from registered plants twice a season, and included in their CSA/donation program.

Participation is free for residents of the Aurora-area, and will be recognized with a coupon redeemable at our weekly farmer’s market stand.
