Here are some fun options for celebrating and ushering in 2015.
Noon Year’s Eve at SciTech
SciTech Hands on Museum, a great place for all ages to learn about science in a fun, interactive environment, is welcoming area families to join in on a Noon Year’s celebration.
The one-of-a-kind museum invites children to participate in creation stations where they will blend art with science. A science show is at 12:30 p.m.
SciTech’s celebration is $12 and will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
New Year’s at the VAC
Families and children can start their New Year’s Eve activities early with a celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 31 at the Vaughan Athletic Center.
The Family New Year’s Eve Party will ring in 2015 with a variety of festivities. Kids and adults can get energetic while climbing and bouncing on giant inflatables, playing interactive games, competing in hula hoop contests, viewing kid fit demos and dancing to the latest tunes with a live DJ.
“This event gives kids their own celebration,” said recreation supervisor Laureen Baumgartner. “They don’t have to stay up until midnight to enjoy a New Year’s party.”
Party favors will be distributed to all pre-registered guest for the New Year’s countdown that will feature a colossal balloon drop at noon.
Pre-registration by noon on Dec. 29 is encouraged in order to guarantee admission, party favors, activities and a snack. Advance tickets are $7 per person (ages 2 and up). Children under 2 are free. Day-of registration is $10 per person, but party favors and snacks will not be available for those who register then.
