A Midwest summer just isn’t a summer without hitting up several local festivals on the weekends. In Aurora, two of the hottest summer concert festivals are Blues on the Fox and Two Brothers Summer Festival. Here is what you need to know to mark your calendar accordingly. The countdown is on!

Concert notes: Blues on the Fox is an Aurora staple. It’s often noted that Aurora’s blues acts are top-notch and exceed other area blues festivals.

What: Two Brothers Summer Festival
Where: Two Brothers Roundhouse, 205 N. Broadway, Aurora
When: Friday, June 26; Saturday, June 27 & Sunday, June 28
Concert notes: This fun, relaxed festival was formerly called the Hop Juice Fest. It’s been around for a few years at the Roundhouse, and brings great bands to the outdoor concert stage that you’d otherwise be hard pressed to find outside of a big city venue.

What: Soul Feed Smooth Jazz Festival
Where: RiverEdge Park, Aurora
When: Saturday, June 6
Concert notes: It’s the first time that this festival will be hosted in Aurora. In its seventh year, this year’s event features Walter Beasley, super group Hiroshima, and Cuban Afro group Mambo Express.

Where: Prisco Community Center
When: Saturday, June 13
Notes: This environmentally-friendly affair is a ton of fun for all ages, and offers up a bit of everything green from a solar-powered concert stage to local eggs for sale.

What: Louche Puce Market
Where: Water Street Mall, between Downer & Galena
When: Saturday, August 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Notes: This eclectic summer market brings dozens of vendors to the tree-lined, pedestrian friendly Water Street Mall. Typically, it’s on the second Saturday from June to September, but it’s a one-day-only event this year.

What: First Fridays in Downtown Aurora
Where: Various venues
When: The first Friday of every month in 2015, including June 5, July 3, August 7
Notes: This year, watch for First Fridays to include outdoor performances and artisan tables during the warmer, summer months.
