Cristian Pastorello, AU Assistant Professor of Music, performs masterworks from the Classical, Romantic and Impressionist Eras. The program includes the Sonata in E major op. 109 by Beethoven, a highly introspective work characteristic of the composer’s final output.

Film: “The Cove”

Perry Theatre at 349 S. Gladstone Ave., Aurora, Illinois

Using state-of-the-art equipment, a group of activists infiltrate a cove near Taijii, Japan, to expose both a shocking instance of animal abuseand a serious threat to human health. Discussion led by Mark Zelman, AU Associate Professor of Biology.

The Celebrating Arts and Ideas series is in its ninth season and features 28 events, including concerts, lectures, films, theatre presentationsand art exhibitions. The series draws several thousand audience members to campus each year, creating a thriving environment for cultural enrichment in the Fox River Valley.
